Established in 2001

Sustainable Engineering Tas started life as a consulting partnership between Brad Deeks and Todd Milne (environmental scientist) to develop the WSUD guides for Tasmania for the Derwent Estuary Program under the name the WET environment.

After delivering several composite bio-remediation systems (the first of their type in Australia) Todd moved on to a senior role at Nyrstar and the consultancy moved to a civil engineering focus delivering projects for private clients, Local Government and Taswater.

In 2015 Sustainable Engineering moved to a registered company and we have been growing and expanding our services since.  We are still proudly 100% Tasmanian owned and take great pride in being able to serve the Tasmanian community.

Our Team

Brad Deeks
Principal / Managing Director

With Bachelor and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering and a range of post grad qualifications in Project Management, Conservation and Land Management coupled with over 24 years experience in the public and private sector, Brad has a record of successful delivery and management of civil infrastructure projects, supported by a strong background in design, project management, construction and financial management.​

Mike Wiltshire
General Manager

Mike has been in Management/leadership roles for last 25 years has spent the last 5 years as State Manager for a Tier 1 Contractor to TasNetworks supplying overhead Line services to their network both in Maintenance and Construction.
 
Mike notes “Prior to that all my time has been in the construction industry in GM & COO Roles and 3 years in HVAC Industry as State Manager. Went consulting (MAW consulting) for 2 years specialising in Change Management and Team development.”

​Mike brings a wealth of management knowledge and governance skills to the business.

Stephen Cardinal
Engineering Officer / Project Manager

Steve has a 25+ year career in engineering delivery and has key skills in asset management, asset inspections, works programming and delivery, project management and traffic management and auditing. Steve holds a Diploma Civil Engineering, Diploma Project Management and traffic management certifications.

 Alysha Johnson
Senior Design Engineer / Project Manager

Alysha is an experienced design engineer (BEng, BSc with honours) and has been the principal design engineer on a number of large scale state road projects providing her vital experience for a wide range of civil design services.

Since joining SETas, Alysha has delivered a wide range of civil design projects from large subdivisions to complex traffic signalisation projects and major streetscape upgrades for Local Government and private clients.

Daryl Polzin
Contract Engineer / Project Manager

Daryl holds a Bachelor Engineering with honours (Civil) and Grad Municipal Engineering and has over 25 years experience as a civil engineer and project manager working in project planning and management, contract administration, strategic infrastructure planning, specification development and maintenance planning roles including experience with Local Government and Taswater.

Kristine Ancher
Urban Design / Landscape Architect

Kristine has undertaken a number of significant landscaping and urban design projects for Local Government over her 20 year career and has left a lasting impression on the urban revitalisation space.  Kristine holds a Bachelor Environmental Design, Grad Dip in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Urban Studies.

Dheeraj Rajan
Technical Services Engineer

Dheeraj is a mechanical engineer (BEng) with 15 years’ of multi- disciplinary project delivery experience. Demonstrated strengths in project scope and risk management, design coordination, project scheduling, procurement, construction management, deliverables coordination and proven track record of successful delivery of projects from concept design, through to estimating, tendering, construction, commissioning and asset handover​

Abiral Joshi
Design Engineer

Abiral is an experienced design engineer and project manager and has worked for local government and in private consulting.
Over his year career, he has delivered a wide range of projects and has strong skills in developing highly constructable and efficient designs.

Jardinne Warwick
Civil Engineer

​Jardinne has over 8 years experience in Local Government and service delivery having worked at Clarence City Council since 2015 and previously with Aurora/TasNetworks. She has worked predominantly in the Development Engineering space, as well as on construction projects such as Bayfield Street Streetscape, Kangroo Bay Parklands, Toilet and BBQ facility and Kangaroo Bay Land reclamation.

Jayden Deeks
Executive Assistant to General Manager

Jayden deals with a whole host of business activities. Some of these include compliance, general administration, company media and more.
